Cut off by the Jaws of Borrowdale to the north and the Honister Pass to the south it is a mystical land. A land that mobile phone and TV signals do not reach! Once the bed of a glacial lake it forms a sheltered retreat in the middle of the Cumbriam Mountains. Park your car and forget it. There is a weeks walking from where ever you stay and what ever is your standard.
